Custom Processed HALF HOG

Our farm is now offering whole hogs to be custom-processed to your specifications. Choose a variety of cuts - chops, ribs, roasts, sausages, bacon, and more to fill your freezer!

 

Cost Breakdown

Cost is $3.50/lb. live weight (approximately 150-175lbs.) for a rough average of $577.50  plus your processing cost when picking up your meat, which averages $150 (excludes additional costs of smoking products, selecting brats/links, or patties, and slicing cuts). All products will be sealed, labeled and frozen. Products cannot be resold and will be labeled NOT FOR RESALE.

 

Optional Add-ons
Around 7-8lbs. of bacon and 10lbs. of pork chops per hog. You can choose to keep the hams (whole or sliced), Boston Butts, and other roasts, or use them for ground products (links, patties, sausage, bratwurst). Smoking any products are an additional $1.50/lb. per the processor. Sausage flavors are 25lb. minimum for a flavor, then $15 for each additional flavor.

 

How It Works

  1. Place down-payment - this is a deposit covering majority of your expenses for the meat.
  2. We will send you the cut sheet and can help you select your cuts; form needs to be filled out in advance to give to processor at time of drop off.
  3. We take hog to Trackside Butcher Shoppe (Campellsburg, KY). We will invoice you remaining balance due once live weight is recorded by the processing facility. 
  4. Trackside Butcher Shoppe will contact you when pork is ready to be picked up. 
  5. Enjoy your freezer full of pasture raised pork!

  • It's simple: pasture-raised pork is one of the best products you can eat. Most pigs today are raised entirely indoors and are fed a diet of corn and soybeans. Pigs raised outdoors on pasture and in wooded areas intake a diverse diet of plants, insects and nuts, in addition to being fed silage and grain. They are exposed to sunshine and are able to forage, run, jump and root in the soil. This results in healthier animals … and more nutritious food for people as well.

    Studies show the nutritional value of pork from pastured pigs that consume grass and forage is higher than pork from conventionally-raised pigs.

    - Less saturated fat, more heart-healthy polyunsaturated fats

    - 2.4x more omega-3 fats, low ratio of omega-6 fats

    - 8% higher levels of protein and 2x more vitamin E

    FAQ

    - Are your pigs grass-fed?

    Are pigs have 24/7 access to pasture and hay. They recieve some additional feed, but most of their diet consists of grass and foraging. We follow strict feed regulations based on A Greener World certification requirements. For example, our feed never contains hormones or antibitoics. 

    - Are your pigs treated with mRNA vaccines? 

    No. We use vaccinations with discretion, and we decided to pass on vaccinating our pigs. We follow strict bio-security protocols and keep a closed herd to prevent infections.  For more information on our treatment plan, read here:
